Well now, let’s talk about them things, you know, them… uh… exterior home elevators and lifts. Yeah, them things that take you up and down outside your house. Fancy stuff, I tell ya!
First off, why would ya want one of them things? I mean, stairs ain’t so bad, right? But I guess some folks, well, they ain’t as spry as they used to be. Maybe their knees are shot, or maybe they just got too much money and don’t wanna walk. Whatever the reason, these here elevator things, they make it easier to get in and out of your house. Especially if you got one of them tall houses, you know, with the porch way up high. It’s a real pain to haul groceries up all them stairs, let me tell ya.
So, how do you get one of these here contraptions? Well, I reckon you gotta find somebody who knows what they’re doin’. You can’t just go buyin’ one of them things at the hardware store, you know. You need a real professional, somebody who knows about wirin’ and buildin’ and all that fancy stuff. They gotta come out to your house, measure things up, and figure out where the best place to put it is. It ain’t as simple as stickin’ it in the ground, I can tell you that much.
- First, gotta find a good spot. You don’t want it blockin’ the door or nothin’.
- Then, they gotta dig a hole, I guess, for the bottom part. And pour some of that concrete stuff.
- After that, they start puttin’ up the frame, you know, the metal part that holds the elevator.
- Then comes the box, the part you ride in. And all the wires and buttons and such.
- Last but not least, they gotta test it out, make sure it ain’t gonna fall down on ya.
Now, I hear tell these things ain’t cheap. Nope, not cheap at all. You gotta shell out some serious cash for one of these here elevators. But I guess if you really need it, or if you just got money to burn, then it’s worth it. And they say it makes your house worth more too, you know, if you ever wanna sell it. Folks like them fancy things.
And get this, you can even get one of these elevators even if your house ain’t new. Yep, they can put ’em in old houses too. Ain’t that somethin’? So if you’re gettin’ up there in years, and them stairs are startin’ to feel like Mount Everest, well, maybe it’s time to think about gettin’ yourself one of these here outdoor elevators.
So, is it a good idea to get an exterior home elevator? Well, that depends. If you got the money and you need it, then sure, why not? It makes life easier, that’s for sure. And it can make your house look fancy too, if you’re into that sort of thing. But if you’re young and healthy, and you ain’t got a pile of cash sittin’ around, well, then maybe you can just stick to the stairs for now.
But I tell ya what, these here elevators, they’re gettin’ more and more popular. I see ’em in magazines and on them TV shows. Folks are always lookin’ for ways to make their lives easier, and these things sure do that. So, if you’re thinkin’ about it, I’d say go ahead and do some research, talk to some folks who know what they’re doin’, and see if it’s the right thing for you. It might just be the best thing you ever did. Makes gettin’ around a whole lot easier, that’s for sure. No more huffin’ and puffin’ up them stairs.
And remember, you want to make sure it’s safe, too. Don’t go tryin’ to build one of these things yourself, unless you know what you’re doin’. You don’t want to end up fallin’ down and breakin’ a hip, now do ya? Get a professional, somebody who knows what they’re doin’, and you’ll be alright. That’s my advice, anyway. Take it or leave it.
